Quickly identify the quality of glass glue

1. Smell (for acid glue)

Acid gum contains acetic acid, which will produce a sour taste in the process of volatilization. Generally speaking, the better the quality of the glue, the lighter the acid taste; the worse the quality of the glue, the stronger the acid taste (because of the more acetic acid added), and the better the quality of the glue, the smell will disappear quickly in the curing process; and the worse the quality of the glue, the longer the acid volatilization time.

2. Specific luster

The glossiness of different quality glue is different. The color of high-quality glue is strong after curing, while some of inferior glue has no luster after being beaten out, and others lose luster after curing for one or two months.

3. Check granule

High quality glass glue is a kind of chemical synthetic material which has been fully and evenly stirred. After sizing and curing, it is smooth, flat and glossy. However, there are some visible particles and impurities in poor quality glass glue. After sizing and curing, the surface of adhesive strip is not as smooth and smooth as that of good quality.

4. Test tension and adhesion

The tensile strength and peel strength (i.e. adhesion) of silicone adhesive after curing also vary with the quality of silica gel. High quality adhesive has strong tensile force, large tensile range, high peel strength, and vice versa.

5. Test curing effect

After local sizing, the user should first check the surface drying time of the glass glue in combination with the instructions on the product package. If the time is too short or the time is too long, it indicates that the quality of the glass glue is defective (of course, the influence of environmental conditions should also be considered). After the curing is completed (the curing time should also be indicated by the manufacturer), the hardness and elasticity of the glue should be tested by hand, which is too hard or too soft Glue is not good glue, you can also cut open the cross-section of the glue, so as to detect whether the curing effect inside and outside the glue is consistent.

6. Look at the bubbles

The main component of high-quality glass glue is silicone, and the amount of other additive materials is very small. Pure silicone has good stability. It is little affected by the change of external conditions during storage period. When sizing, it will not produce the phenomenon of "crackling" or "popping" due to air mixing into the bottle. However, the inferior silicone glass glue is not 100% silicone rubber. The additives in the silica gel may react with the PE soft rubber of the plastic bottle, which may cause the bottle to swell and increase. The air remaining in the space will penetrate into the glue to create voids. When applying the glue, it will emit the sound of "Pa, Pa", which shortens the shelf life. What's more, a few manufacturers deliberately hit the bottom cover in the bottle when filling the glue At the bottom, there is air in the middle of the bottle, which greatly reduces the amount of glue filled. It is inevitable that there are bubbles in the natural glue.
